Combine in mixing bowl:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
In a saucepan bring to boil:
1 cup water
1/2 cup shortening
1 stick oleo (margarine)
3 tbsp cocoa powder

Pour into bowl with dry ingredients and add 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 cup buttermilk, 1 tsp baking soda. Pour into greased and floured cookie sheet (11x18) and bake for 20 mins at 325º. While the cake is baking take the same saucepan and melt 1 stick oleo, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 6 tbsp milk, and 1 tsp vanilla. Remove from heat and add 1 box of powdered sugar and 1/ cup of chopped nuts. Pour on cake as soon as it is removed from the oven. When cool, cut into squares.
