Ingredients:
Ingredients:

1 cup Butter
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs, whisked together
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 cups + 2 Tablespoons Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Milk Chocolate Chunks
3/4 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Vanilla Ice Cream for serving

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt.

In a small bowl, combine the sugars.

In a 10 or 12 inch cast iron skillet, melt butter over medium heat, until it starts to bubble and is completely melted, keep cooking until the bubbles subside and the butter is a nutty, golden color (use a spoon to test since it is hard to see in the skillet). Add the sugar mixture and using a wooden spoon, mix well. Allow to sit for 3-5 minutes to reduce the temperature

Add the eggs and quickly mix into the sugar mixture to prevent them from scrambling.

Add flour, baking soda, and salt and stir well.

Add the chocolate and nuts if using, and stir to combine. Spread the dough evenly in the skillet.

Bake for 30 – 40 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes.

Top with ice cream and enjoy warm!

*The inside will still be slightly gooey and that's the way it's meant to be!

* If you don't have a cast iron skillet, you can mix this up and bake it in a pie plate!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
During the spring of 2020 while sheltering at home during the worldwide pandemic, I did a lot of family style cooking and baking since two of our young adult kids came back to shelter with us. This is a (dangerously) easy and delicious treat that was perfect for a movie or game night!
