3 c. sugar
½ tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. butter
1 c. milk
½ tsp. vanilla
6 Tbsp. cocoa
meat nuts (optional)
marshmallows (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the sugar, salt, cocoa and milk together and bring slowly to a boil. Then cook without stirring until 235°F or soft ball stage. Remove candy from fire and add butter and vanilla. Set aside to cool. When cool enough to insert finger without discomfort, start beating and beat until it loses the gloss. Add a ½ to 1 c. chopped nut meats and ½ c. marshmallows just before mixture loses the gloss.
