1 pkg. yeast
1 tsp. salt
2½ cups cold water
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
5-6 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
1st day- at noon: Soak yeast in 1/2 cup cold water in a lg. bowl. Let stand until following morning.
2nd day- @ 9-10AM: Add 2 cups cold water, shortening, sugar and salt to yeast mixture. Mix in some of the flour and dump onto floured board and knead in rest of flour until soft bread dough forms. Grease a large bowl and put dough into bowl - cover and rise until noon- 2 hours. Punch down and knead a little and let rise until evening.
Pinch off egg sized piece of dough and form into bun. Place on well greased baking sheets- not touching- and rise until next AM.
3rd day: Bake early AM in quick oven at 350º -15 minutes.
