2 eggs
1 c shortening
1 c sour milk
4 c flour - sifted (maybe a little more)
1 tsp salt
1 3/4 c sugar
1/2 t nutmeg
1 t baking soda
1 t baking powder
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and nutmeg
Combine baking soda and sour milk
Sift together remaining dry ingredients
Mix alternately with sour milk and creamed mixture
Drop by tsp onto a greased cookie sheet
Press flat with a glass dipped in sugar
Bake at 375 until slightly brown.
Check after 10 minutes - when done cookies will spring back when touched lightly
