Notes: "The recipe came from Dale Evans of Dale Evans and Roy Rogers fame. I copied it from a 1964 Baltimore Sun Newspaper column. It has been a great favorite of ours ever since. In exchange for a copy, First Lady Barbara Bush contributed a couple of recipes to a cookbook created by a ladies' group I belonged to while living overseas. During an interview a few years later, Mrs. Bush cited Cowboy Cookies as her favorite cookie recipe! I wonder if the recipe came from our cookbook!"
