1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg well beaten
1 1/2 tsp dark corn syrup
whole almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375

Mix the flour with baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and cloves.

Cream the butter and sugar until softened. Beat one egg well and add it in along with the corn syrup.

Add the dry ingredients, mix well and place in the fridge until chilled.

On a lightly floured surface, roll about 1/8 inch thick. Cut with lightly floured cookie cutter into various shapes. Cut and almond in half and press it in center of cookie.

Bake for 6-8 minutes and place cookies on a cooling rack

(I use a bit of pam on cookie sheets)
