Ingredients: Cream Together: 1 c shortening 2 c sugar Add 3 eggs one at a time. After adding the eggs, add 2 Tablespoons of flour and cream until blended.
Sour Milk: 1 c milk ¾ c fresh-squeezed orange juice 3 T grated orange rind Mix all together and let sit for a few minutes.
Sift together: 5 c flour 1 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder ½ tsp baking soda
Alternately add dry ingredients with milk mixture to the creamed ingredients. Start with flour and end with flour.

Directions:Drop by tablespoon onto greased baking sheet. DO NOT use air bake sheets; they do not rise right on them. Bake 8 – 10 minutes at 375º until golden brown on the bottom (The tops will not brown).
Icing: Mix together: 1 stick butter 1 lb powder sugar Grated orange rind from 1 orange. Fresh squeezed orange juice to make the icing spreadable but not too runny so the icing will set up.
