2 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup shortening or 1 stick margarine
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp orange juice
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400º

2. Blend margarine with sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and orange juice

3. Mix all dry ingredients separately

4. Mix dry and wet ingredients together

5. Knead until ready to roll. On a floured board, roll out and cut with Hanukkah symbol cookie cutters.

6. Sprinkle top with sugar crystals.

7. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 400º

8. Optional - frost with your choice of icing after cookies cool (can add food coloring to vanilla icing to make blue icing if desired)
