1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
¾ cup shortening
⅓ cup milk
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup Raisins

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400º.

Mix brown sugar, shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy. Mix together in large bowl, flour, baking powder, oats, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add to wet ingredients 1 cup at a time. Mix until well blended.

Stir in raisins.

Bake on parchment lined cookie sheets for 10 minutes.

Let stand on trays for 2 minutes before removing to rack to cool.

This cookie recipe was from Aunt Kay. Mom always said these make the best Oatmeal Raisin cookies. Soft and chewy and flavorful! Another good cookie variation (if you're not a Raisin lover) is to remove the Raisins and just have Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies! Really nummy!
