1 cup of softened butter
½ cup of sifted confectioners sugar
1 tsp of vanilla
2 cups of flour
1 cup of ground chocolate or baking cocoa (use good stuff)
½ cup of ground chocolate or baking cocoa (use good stuff) - reserve for coating
½ cup powdered sugar for coating
½ tsp of salt
¾ cup of finely walnuts, pecans, almonds or other nuts

Directions:

Cream the butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Mix flour and salt into the above mixture. Knead well. Fold in nuts. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour. Form dough into small balls and place on a cookie sheet. Preheat oven to 400ºF. Bake for 10 – 12 minutes. Roll over ½ way through to insure brown on both sides. Remove from the oven and allow to fully cool.

Coating:

Coat right before you serve them. Mix powdered sugar and chocolate/cocoa together. Place in a large zip lock bag. Place cooled cookies in bag and coat them evenly. Remove and place on a plate.
