Directions:
Combine yeast, 1 cup of lukewarm water and 1 tablespoon sugar and set aside. Mix 1 1/2 cup sugar, shortening, salt, eggs and water thoroughly. Electric mixer maybe use. Start adding flour, then yeast mixture. Keep adding flour until dough reaches desired consistency for easy handling. Set this aside at suppertime and knead every hour (3 to 4 times.) Shape into buns about size of walnuts or a little larger. May proceed and make cinnamon rolls. Spray with vegetable spray and cover with clean dish towels or plastic wrap. Let’s set our overnight on the counter top. Bake in 350° oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Yield: 6 to 7 dozen dinner rolls or cinnamon rolls.
