Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Shortening or Butter
2 Eggs
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
2 cups oats
2 cups Rice Krispies

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter (or shortening) and sugars then add in eggs, salt, baking powder, baking soda and vanilla until thoroughly mixed. Then add flour, oats and cereal. Mix just until combined (it will be a little crumbly). Drop by spoonfuls on a baking sheet and bake about 10 minutes. The recipe said 6 dozen, I got 5. Because the dough is crumbly, you might have to squish it together a bit but I wouldn't worry overmuch, it comes together in the end.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe was great grandma Eskola, who was a Yooper, passed down to my G'ma Helen, who lived in Alabama. The BC stands for breakfast cereal but my mom and her siblings thought it stood for Bruce's Crossing, which was either in Alabama or up north, unclear which. I have tried this with other cereals, cocoa puffs got soggy. I think corn flakes would work and maybe something like cinnamon toast crunch. Today, I made as is, except I added a cup of mini chocolate chips. You could also add raisins, dried cranberries or cherries. Mix up the spices (cinnamon, nutmeg etc).
