½ c Shortening
1½ c White Sugar
2 Eggs
4 Bottles Red Food Coloring (2oz each)
1 T White Vinegar
1 tsp Salt
1 c Buttermilk
2½ c Flour
2 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Baking Soda
2 T Cocoa, level

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and food coloring.

Sift flour, salt, and cocoa. Add alternatively with buttermilk; beating on medium speed after each addition. Add vanilla and beat.

Add vinegar with baking soda on top. Mix with spoon.

Bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes or until done.
