Grandma's Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

2 cups very warm milk (not boiling, but as warm as you can stand to put your hand in)
½ cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
¼ cup shortening
¼ cup (1 stick) butter
2 packages active dry yeast
7-8 cups flour
2 eggs beaten
Cinnamon
Brown sugar
Corn syrup

Beat eggs
Heat milk to scalding but not boiling
Stir sugar and salt into milk
In separate skillet, melt shortening and butter together
In a large mixing bowl, put 4 cups of flour
Sift yeast into flour (Pour it on top of the flour and mix with normal egg beater)
Add warm milk mixture to flour/yeast mixture and mix in by hand (Let milk cool before adding)
Add shortening, butter mixture to dough and mix by hand (Let cool before using)
Add more flour (about 1 cup) and mix by hand
Add beaten eggs and mix by hand
Add more flour ( 1 ½ - 2 cups little by little, ½ cup at a time)
Mix by hand until stiff and not sticky (should pull away from edges of bowl, not stick to them)
Put ½ cup flour on table top work area
Knead dough on floured table for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic
Put in greased pan or bowl and cover with a dish towel
Place bowl in warm place for dough to rise to double it's height (fingerprint should remain in dough)
Beat dough with hand in air and on table to get bubbles out (Should go back to much smaller size)
Grease baking pan with margarine
Cover bottom of pan with brown sugar - sprinkled around and then add corn syrup (Be generous w/Karo)
Roll out dough on floured table with rolling pin
Grease dough with margarine
Shake cinnamon over all of dough
Roll dough widthwise to create long tube
Cut in 1 inch strips (based on pan height)
Place in pan and cover with dish towel
Let rise to double height
Bake at 350º for 20 minutes
