½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
⅓ cup flour
¼ tsp salt
1 cup quick cooking oats
2 Tbsp milk

Melt butter in a two-quart saucepan. Stir in remaining ingredients. Mix well; mixture will be stiff but will spread when cooking. Drop by ½ teaspoonful onto greased and floured cookie sheet three inches apart. Bake at 375º for 5-7 minutes. Let stand 1 minute after taking out of oven. Take up cookies before they get hard and brittle. It is best to use a wide spatula as cookies will be very thin and lacy.
