4 c. Flour
1 c. Sugar
3 tsp. Baking powder
2 to 3 eggs
1 cup butter, softened
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Anise flavoring
Pinch of salt
Jar of Fig filling
Vanilla frosting
Sesame seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º
Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Mix butter and sugar together. Add eggs, vanilla and anise.
Mix together dry ingredients add to egg mixture.

Fig cookies:
Roll out dough, place fig down center of dough, fold over each side of dough onto the fig. Pinch ends of dough. Once baked and cooled completely frost and add sprinkles. Slice into individual cookies.

S-Cookies:
Roll dough into rope, shape into “S”. Once baked and cooled completely frost and add sprinkles.

Seed Cookies:
Roll dough into oblong shape. Roll in milk than roll in sesame seeds.

If you can’t find the fig filling here is Grandma’s recipe to make from whole figs.

1 Ring of Figs
2 boxes of raisins
2 Tbsp. Cinnamon
1 chocolate bar with almonds
Grated orange peel (1 orange)
1 c. Warm water

Chop first 4 ingredients or put them into a blender.
Then add to chopped mixture the following:
Grated orange peel, 1 c. Warm water. Add more water if needed to soften mixture.
