¾ c soft shortening
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
½ c apple sauce
2 ¼ c flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¾ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cloves
1 c raisins
½ c shopped nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly then stir in apple sauce. Mix dry ingredients and blend into shortening mixture. Mix in raisins and walnuts. Drop by teaspoon full on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375º. Can sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
