½ c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. crushed pineapple, drained (reserve juice for Icing)
½ c. black walnuts
¼ t. salt
¼ t. soda
1 t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour

ICING
¼ c. butter
powdered sugar
pineapple juice

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients in order given, sifting together dry ingredients before adding. Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350º.

ICING: ¼ c. butter, powdered sugar, and pineapple juice. Brown butter in saucepan, being careful not to burn. Add powdered sugar and pineapple juice to make enough to frost cookies.
