¼ cup butter
¼ cup shortening
1½ cups white sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2¾ all purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powde
½ teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
In large mixing bowl cream butter, shortening & sugar until smooth & light, add eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder & salt and beat in with sour cream & vanilla. Chill dough. Grease baking sheet . For large cookies drop rounded dessert spoons at least 2½ inches apart. Bake at 425º.
Baking time depends on size of cookies so watch close and test for doneness. They should only be tinged with gold. Break one in half to test doneness. Cool on racks. Keep dough in fridge between times you are filling the pans.

Icing
¼ cup butter melted, 1 cup sifted icing sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla, 1 tablespoon hot water.

Melt butter in saucepan till golden, remove from heat & stir in icing sugar and vanilla. When blended stir in hot water. Cool till spreading can be done and spread on top of cookies
