1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
3 Tbs milk

Directions:
Mix ingredients together. Wrap in Saran or waxed paper. Roll out on lightly floured board. Cut out shapes while returning the rest to the refrigerator. Do not re-roll the scraps until the last batch...just keep cutting off small chunks until dough is used up. Be sure to keep dough chilled. Used lightly greased baking sheet on 350º, watching closely until edges just start to brown (maybe 12 minutes or so).

From mom: "You will get the knack after using this recipe more than once. Butter really is the best to use...trust me!". These were the cookies we frosted for Christmas.
