Bring to boil:
1 cup mashed strawberries
1 cup water
1 cup sugar

Add, and bring to boil again:
1 3 oz. pkg. strawberry jello
3 tbsp. cornstarch mixed with a little cold water

Boil until this glaze is thick and clear. Let cool slightly and fold in - very gently
3 cups strawberries sliced, cut in half or whole depending on the size.

Pour into baked pie crust and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

This has been a family favorite for years. Grandma Litchhult made it with fresh picked strawberries from her garden. It's an Easter favorite. The original is from Margaret Hartzell - the mother of Fay's 2nd wife. It is the original strawberry pie recipe of Big Boy restaurants.
