"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
! cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 stick (1/2 c. butter)
1 29 oz. can sliced peaches
1/2 of the peach syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drain peaches, reserving 1/2 of the syrup. Place the butter in a 9 x 11 inch ovenproof baking dishes that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Heat the butter in stove until melted.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Stir in the milk and reserved syrup. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish Arrange the peaches over the batter. Bake for 1 hour. The cobbler is done when the batter rises around the peaches and the crust is thick and golden brown. Serve warm with whipped cream, frozen topping, or ice cream.

For Homemade Whipped Cream, Chill a large metal mixing bowl and the wire beater attachment in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Pour 2 cups whipping cream that has been chilled into the chilled bowl with 4 T. sugar and beat until it forms soft peaks, about 5 minutes. The mixture should hold its shape when dropped from a spoon. Don't overbeat or it will turn to butter!
