2¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon course salt
2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 cups chocolate chips

Variations:

Thin and crisp
2 ½ sticks unsalted butter, softened
1¼ cups granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar

Soft and Chewey
2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar

Light and Cakey
1¾ sticks unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

1. In bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
2. In another bowl, beat butter with both sugars until fluffy.
3. Beat in salt, vanilla, and eggs until well combined
3. Mix in flour mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
4. Drop tablespoon-size balls of dough 2 inches apart onto parchment paper-lined baking sheets
5. Bake until cookies are golden around the edges but still soft in center, 8 to 10 minutes.
6. Transfer to a wire rack, let cool
