Ingredients:
Ingredients:
• ˝ cup butter
• 1/14 cups granulated sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 2 eggs
• 2 ounces unsweetened bakers chocolate, melted and cooled
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• ˝ teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons milk
• ˝ cup chopped pecans or other nuts, optional
• Confectioners Sugar (UNSIFTED )

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light; add vanilla then beat in eggs and melted chocolate.

Stir in dry ingredients alternately with milk. Stir in chopped pecans. Shape dough into 1-inch balls (stir if necessary to make the dough firmer). Roll balls in confectioners’ sugar and place on lightly greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 14 to 16 minutes; or until cookies are firm in the center. Remove from baking sheets and cool on racks. Makes 4 dozen.

Ramona’s Tips:
• Don’t use nuts.
• If you have a stone, cookies bake very nicely on it by preheating the stone first. Each batch will bake nicely at 12 to 14 minutes.
• Roll dough balls GENEROUSLY in confectioners’ sugar. Really coat them well. Don’t brush off excess. Otherwise the cookie doesn’t look nice.
• Dough can be made the day before and refrigerated overnight. Cookies shape easier this way.
