2 c shortening, softened
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1-1/3 c sweetened applesauce
2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp allspice
1 c quick oats
1 c raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the shortening and sugar together until well blended. Add the egg to the creamed mixture and beat until light and fluffy.
Sift the flour together with the cinnamon, cloves, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
Add the sifted ingredients alternating with the applesauce to the creamed mixture and blend together. Fold in oats and raisins.
Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie baking sheets.
Bake at 375ºFahrenheit for 12 to 15 minutes until well browned.
Cool on wire racks.
