Ingredients: 1 pound butter 1 pound cream cheese 4-1/2 - 5 cups flour
Walnut filling: 1 lb. walnuts, finely ground 2 cups sugar milk

Directions: |
Directions:Mix butter and cream cheese together using a fork or pastry blender. Add flour and mix well. Dough should stay together and not stick to your hands. Refrigerate dough for about 4 hours to make handling easier.
Walnut filling: mix nuts and sugar together. Add enough milk to make somewhat pasty and able to spread.
Roll dough into balls about 1" in diameter. Combine equal parts of sugar and flour (start with about 1/3 cup each) and use this mixture to roll the balls.
Roll balls into circles and spread with filling. Roll up (like nut rolls)and place on cookie sheet lined with non-stick foil.
350º 15 - 23 minutes
Note: takes about 2.5 hours including clean up and makes about 100 nut horns. |

Notes: Can also roll dough into a larger circle; spread with nut filling, cut into triangles and then roll up.
Can use other fillings - apricot, pineapple, etc. Can make pinwheels. Roll a piece of dough, cut into squares. Make a cut from each corner about 1/2 way to center. Put a bit of filling in center. Take one side of each corner and bring to center. Pinch to seal well and you have a pin wheel.
I use this same dough in any tassie recipes. See separate listing for tastes.
