⅔ cup shortening
¾ cup sugar
½ teaspoon grated orange peel
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
4 teaspoons milk
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar, orange peel and vanilla
Add eggs, beat til light and fluffy
Stir in milk
Sift dry ingredients, blend in creamed mixture
Divide dough in half and chill 1 hour
On lightly floured surface roll to ⅛ inch
Cut in desired shapes
Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375º for 6-8 minutes
Cool slightly remove from pan
Cook on rack.
