½ cup butter
½ cup Crisco
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup white sugar
1½ eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla
2¼ cup flour
¾ tsp baking soda
¾ tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup walnut pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter, Crisco, brown and white sugars until fluffy and light. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until thoroughly incorporated. In a separate bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients. Add to sugar mixture until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Scoop onto cookie sheet using ¼ cup scoop. Bake in a preheated oven at 350ºF for exactly 17 minutes. Remove to rack to cool

These cookies are a Larson family favorite and they were the Grand Champion Blue Ribbon winner at the Jackson County Fair.
