½ pound dates
½ cup candied cherries
½ cup candied pineapple
½ pound pecans
2½cups sifted flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1½ cups sugar
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Cut dates, cherries and pineapple in chunks. Chop nuts. Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Mash butter until soft and creamy. Add sugar gradually, work until smooth, beat the eggs and add flour, then fruits and nuts. It is very hard to stir. Mix well. Put by teaspoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 min at 375º. Don't overbake. Cool slightly before removing from the cookie sheet.
