1 cup butter softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
2/3 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 /2 tsp baking soda
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 12 oz package of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350º
2. Beat butter and sugars with electric mixer on medium high speed for 2 minutes until mixture is very fluffy and turns several shades lighter in color.
3. Beat in eggs, vanilla and baking soda for 1 minute on low speed, scraping sides of the bowl as needed.
4. Gradually mix in flour just until blended. Stir in chocolate and walnuts.
5. Drop heaping balls of dough about 2 tbsp. each, onto a baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake until golden around edges (11-13 min)
6. Cool 1 minute in pan and then use spatula to transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
