1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
Walnuts, finely chopped
Jelly

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, brown sugar, egg white, vanilla.
Sift together flour, salt.
Roll into 1 in balls.
Dip into slightly beaten egg white.
Roll in firmly chopped nuts.
Bake 5 minutes at 375º.
Remove from oven and press thumb in cookies and add jelly.
Return to oven for 8 minutes.
