1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
3 well beaten eggs
1 cup raisins (optional)
2 cups fruit cocktail, well drained
1 1/2 cups nuts (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
4 cups sifted flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, raisins, fruit cocktail, nuts, and vanilla.
Sift together soda, baking powder, flour, cinnamon, and cloves.
Mix mixtures together.
Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
Bake in 400º F oven until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes.
