Ingredients:  
1 qt. milk or 1 can cream and 1 can water
5 tablespoons sifted flour
1 C sifted sugar
pinch of salt
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 block margarine
bananas
vanilla wafers

Meringue:
3 egg whites beaten
6 level tablespoons sugar added.- one spoonful at a time.
Bake oven at 300º until light brown.

Directions:

Mix flour and sugar together in pot.

Add, eggs, milk and salt. Cook, stirring constantly until thick.
Add 1 tsp vanilla and 1/4 block margarine
Stir well. Arrange layers of vanilla wafers, sliced bananas and pudding.
Add meringue lastly and bake as shown above.

This was Mama's favorite banana pudding. She said it was the one she had memorized for years. When I got one from a lady at work, she definitely defended this recipe and didn't want to try the new one!
