1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup of Crisco Shortening
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cups packed light brown sugar
1 cup of sifted flour
1 cup of finely chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Place butter, shortening, syrup and sugar in top part of a double boiler. Bring to a boil and remove from heat immediately.
Blend in flour and nuts.
Grease cookie sheets and then cover with foil.
Use a baby spoon to drop on cookie sheet leaving 3 inches apart from each cookie (they spread in the oven)
Keep remaining batter warm over boiling water.
Bake at 325º for 8-10 minutes
Cool before removing from foil and then place on a baking rack to cool.
Melt chocolate chips in microwave 30 seconds at a time mixing in between until melted.
Spread chocolate on smooth side of cookie and cover with smooth cookie side.
Let chocolate harden.
