Ingredients: Mix together - set aside 3 cups flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt Cream together 1 cup butter 1 cup white sugar Add to creamed mixture 3 slightly beaten eggs 4 tbsp. milk 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:Add flour mixture. When all is incorporated cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night.
On floured board using only half the dough roll dough to ¼ thickness. cut with donut cutter or other round cutter. Place one tsp. desired filling in center of half the cut out circles. Cover with remain dough circles pressing all around with fork to seal. Prick top of each cookie with fork. Bake @ 350º for 10 minutes using tins lined with parchment paper. *Suggested fillings: Date (recipe follows) raspberry, strawberry preserves. Filling should be thick. Date filling: 2 cups dates cut up ½ cup white sugar ¾ cup water cook slowly until mixture thickens. Cool and reserve for cookies |
