1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cups Crisco butter flavored shortening
3 cups Quaker oats
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 package chocolate chips
1/2 package butterscotch chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts optional (Rick never uses)

Directions:

- combine all liquids, eggs, sugars and shortening until smooth
- slow mix in baking soda, flour & oatmeal
- then mix in chips and nuts

Preheat oven to 350º
Lightly grease cooking sheets
Place rounded tsp of dough onto sheets and bake 12-13 mins

Double the recipe is recommended as these go and then you can use the whole package of chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Try freezing to keep longer and they are good frozen.
