3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 well beaten eggs
1 1/2 cup nuts

Filling:
1 package dates
1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking soda, nutmeg and cinnamon. Cream brown sugar, sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Roll out in rectangle. Spread with filling and nuts. Bake at 400 F for 10 minutes.

Note: You are able to chill the dough overnight.
