2 c butter softened 1c
2 c confectionery sugar 1c
2 Tbs vinegar 1Tbs
4 1/2 c all pupose flour 2 1/4
4 tsp ginger 2tsp
1 1/2 tsp soda 3/4 tsp
1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp
3 shakes of cinnamon

heat oven to 400F.
Mix thoroughly butter, sugar and vinegar. Blend in remaining ingredients
(If dough is too dry to handle easily, work in milk or cream. I use can milk - 1 tsp at a time)
Roll dough 1/8 inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes.
Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Beat 6-8 minutes or until light brown.
Cool slightly;carefully remove from baking sheet. If desired decorate with icing.
Makes about 4 dozen

Kids like these cookies with icing and the cinnamon added. Without cinnamon and icing these cookies don't have a real sweet taste.
