1 cup unsalted butter, melted and then cooled for five minutes.
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs - room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup maple syrup
3 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

In a large bowl, stir together melted butter and the two sugars.
Add eggs, one at a time, combine.
Stir in vanilla extract and maple syrup.
In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Gradually add the flour mixture to your wet ingredients.
Stir until completely combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Cover your mixture and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line the cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Scoop about 2 to 3 Tbsp of cookie dough and roll into balls. Make them slightly taller than wide.
Place them 2 inches apart on the cookie sheets.
Bake for 13 minutes, cookies should appear to be slightly underdone, just beginning to turn brown.
Gently press a few chocolate chips into the fresh out of the oven cookies.
Place the next batch of dough in the refrigerator while waiting to bake.
Always make sure the cookie sheets are cool, never start a batch on a hot cookie sheet.
