2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 large eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nut meats, broken
2/3 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 7-oz package chocolate bits

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Mix and sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Melt shortening and add brown sugar and eggs (add one egg at a time, beating well each time). Stir until well mixed and allow to cool slightly. Add dry ingredients, then nut meats, chocolate, and vanilla.

Pour into greased pan and spread thinly into 15x10x3/8 baking pan. Bake for 20-25 min. Cut into squares while warm.
