1 small onion
4-6 slices bacon
1-3 med potatoes
water to cover potatoes
salt and pepper to taste
Milk
1 Cup flour
1 egg
1/2 eggshell of water

Directions:
Directions:
Brown bacon, add onion and cook until tender. Add diced potato and cover with water and cook until potatoes are tender. Add milk to double liquid. season with salt and pepper.
For rivels:
Put flour and salt in bowl and make a well. Add egg yolk and water, slowly work the mixture working the flour slowly in the liquid.
Taking a teaspoon or less of dough at a time drop into the boiling soup until cooked through, about 10 minutes.

This was a recipe my mom learned to make from her Grandmother. It has always been a family favorite and doubling or tripling the rivels is very popular.
