"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

If you have a lot of liquid:
Mix thickening, start with +/- a ¼C of water add small amounts of water & stir making a thick paste with no lumps, slowly add water a little at a time mixing till it is a medium thin pourable paste. Put as much water into the pan as you want gravy, bring to a boil & slowly stir in thickening, stirring with a wire whisk. Add salt & pepper, let simmer until gravy is the consistency of a thin paste.

If you only have a little bit of liquid make gravy the same as Milk Gravy, using water instead of milk.

Personal Notes:
No meat was complete at Nanny's house till the gravy was made. The first time I saw someone open a can of turkey gravy & toss the leavings in the roaster I was 39 & crying like a baby.
