1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup sorghum
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup quick rolled oats
1 package chocolate pieces or 1 cup coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and butter; add eggs and sorghum; add sifted dry ingredients; add vanilla. Stir in rolled oats, chocolate pieces or coconut. Bake at 375º for 12 minutes.
