¾ c shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed firmly
1 egg
¼ c Briar Rabbit Molasses (green label)
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Cream together shortening and brown sugar. Add egg and molasses, blend well. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Add flour mixture to molasses mixture. Mix well. Form 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes.
