2 ¼ cup flour
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp baking soda
¾ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
¼ tsp salt
¾ cup margarine (softened)
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp water
¼ cup molasses
2 Tbsp white sugar

1 Preheat oven to 350ºF
2 Sift together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves & salt
3 In a separate bowl, cream together the margarine and 1 cup of sugar. Beat in the egg, then stir in the water and molasses
4 Mix the dry with the wet ingredients
5 Shape dough into walnut shaped balls, roll them in the remaining 2 Tbsp of sugar
6 Place the cookies 2 inches apart onto an un greased cookie sheet & flatten slightly
7 Bake for 8-10 mins
