1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups oatmeal
dash salt
1 cup coconut
1 lb. candy orange slices, cut fine
2½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix well. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls on cookie pans. Bake at 350º until brown.
