½ cup butter or margarine
2 ¼ cups flour
½ cup other shortening
½ tsp salt
½ cup sugar
½ tsp. baking soda
½ cup powdered sugar
½ tsp. cream of tartar
1 ½ tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortenings and sugars together. Add vanilla, egg, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well. Add flour and mix in. Roll dough into balls. Flatten on cookie sheet with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake in a 350º to 375º oven for 10-12 minutes.
