1 ½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup crisco
1 cup molasses
1 cup hot water with 2 tsp baking soda
(slightly rounded)
1 cup raisins
5 cups flour
pinch salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
½ tsp cloves (opt)
1 Tblsp sharp vinegar

Directions:

Beat sugar, eggs & crisco together. Stir in molasses followed by water mixture and raisins. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in vinegar and drop on lightly greased sheets. Bake 350 12-15 minutes, depending on size.
