3/4 cups sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 Tbsp butter, softened
4 oz. unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
13/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp powder sugar

Directions:

1) Preheat over to 375ºF. Coat 2 cookie sheets nonstick spray
2) In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, beat sugar, cocoa powder, and butter. Add applesauce and vanilla; beat to blend.
3) In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in flour mixture into cocoa batter with wooden spoon.
4) Shape batter into 40 marble-size balls with your hands; Place about 1 inch apart on the cookie sheet
5) Bake until set about 8 minutes. remove form oven and let stand 1 minute.
6)Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely; dust with powder sugar.

Note: This dough is sticky. If it's too difficult to work with, chill in the refrigerator first.
